Forever QR makes static QR codes for links, Wi-Fi, contacts, emails, texts, calls, events and places. Everything is stored inside the code itself, so a printed code can never be switched off.
Why "never expires"?
Some QR services create "dynamic" codes: the code holds their short link, and their server forwards each scan to your page. When a trial ends or a scan cap is reached, that forwarding stops and every printed menu, flyer or program points to an error page.
A static code has no middleman. The phone reads your link, Wi-Fi details or contact straight from the pattern. There is no server to go offline and nothing to renew.
The trade-off: you can't change what a printed static code holds. Point it at a page you control (your own menu page, for example) and update that page whenever you like.
How to
- Make a code: in Single, pick a content type (Link, Wi-Fi, Contact…) and fill in the fields. The preview updates as you type.
- Check it: the scan test below the preview reads the code back with a built-in QR reader. A green check means it decodes to exactly your content.
- Style it: pick colors, modules, corner eyes, margin and an optional caption. Adding a logo switches recovery to H (30%) automatically.
- Export: set the print width and DPI, then download PNG, SVG (vector) or PDF (vector), or copy the image. "Print a whole sheet" fills a label sheet with the same code.
- Many codes at once: in Bulk, paste
name, link lines or import a CSV. Download a ZIP of images or a PDF on label sheets, menu cards or table tents.
- Reuse: exported and saved codes are in History. Edit reopens a code; Duplicate makes a copy to change.
Tips and shortcuts
- ? opens this help, Esc closes it.
- Ctrl/⌘ + S downloads the PNG, adding Shift downloads the SVG.
- Keep the code darker than the background. Many scanner apps can't read light-on-dark codes; the contrast check warns you.
- Shorter content gives bigger squares, which scan from further away. Print at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide for a short link, larger for Wi-Fi or contacts.
- Rounded modules and dots look softer; if the scan test warns, go back to Square or raise recovery.
- Before printing hundreds, print one and scan it with your own phone.
FAQ
Where is my data? Only in this browser. Settings and history are saved in its local storage; logos and CSV files are never uploaded anywhere. Clearing your browser data removes the history.
Does it work offline? Yes. Save the page as a file and double-click it, with or without internet.
Is it really free? Yes, with no account, limits on scans or expiry dates. Tips are welcome but optional.
Limits? One code holds up to about 2,900 bytes at recovery L and about 1,270 at H. Bulk handles up to 1,000 rows. PDF captions use a standard print font, so characters outside Western European alphabets show as "?" there (PNG and SVG keep them).
How reliable is the scan test? It decodes the exact image you'll export. That's a strong check, but printing, lighting and phone cameras vary, so test a printed sample too.
